Prepositions for, to with indirect object
Предлоги for и to, вводящие непрямое дополнение
Предлоги for и to оформляют непрямое дополнение, стоящее после прямого (подробнее см. Indirect object, 3).
1) Глаголы, принимающие непрямое дополнение с предлогом for:

buy; call; choose; cook; do; find; get; keep; make; save.

2) Глаголы, принимающие непрямое дополнение с предлогом to:

bring; give; hand; lend; offer; owe; pass; pay; post; promise; read; sell; send; show; talk; teach; tell; throw; write.
